The Process for retrofitting your home

If you are interested in retro fitting your home you first need to contact an enerGuide consultant. They come and do a pressure test and run through your home to see all the types of enhancements or improvements you can do on your home. They will then provide you with a report and a number.

In the mean time, we can also come out and have your Heat Loss & Gain evaluation completed (required also for the grant) and begin to design your geothermal system.

You have 18 months from the time your enerGuide evaluation is done, to complete any or all work you wish to do to improve your home. Once you are completed you have the enerGuide consultant comeback to your home, he will review all documents and check on the changes. Once completed he will send away for your grants.

For the Geothermal heat pump and loop system only.

You can qualify for $3500.00 Federal grant when you are retrofitting your home.

Provincially, there is $3500.00 available if you are replacing a wood, electric, diesel, oil, or any other type of heating system NOT using natural gas.

For those of you Building NEW

In December 2008, Sask Energy announced retroactive to January 2008, you can apply for a rebate of $3500.00 if you have installed a geothermal heat pump system and did not have access to natural gas affordable. (Which has been defined as” if to bring in the natural gas line to your home was going to be more than $9000.00)

Loan Programs

Sask power has also come on board to help improve the enviroment and help out our customers.

They are providing a loan program that will allow customers to tag on their loan to their monthly power utility bill.
